How can I make Word stop formatting for me?

Is there any way to just "turn off" the auto-formatting option? I have to
create a report by cutting/pasting sections from different authors. I'd like
to just be able to reformat the pasted sections myself. I don't want any
help numbering or tabbing...I just want it OFF!
