Look at the various options in the "Apply formatting to" dropdown in the
Table Style dialog. From here you can apply shading to even rows, odd

UTF-8 (in fact I think, earlier format ones were as well but woul have to

Try saving it in Word 2010 without encryption, then, if you can open that in
2007, re-encrypt it there.
