Default Generating Vertical Splits Screen

If you have Tools Options General Windows in task bar checked Word
*appears* as separate instances for each document you can use Window
Compare with to compare two documents side by side. If that option was not
available in 2002 (it's been a while) you can still put any windows side by
side, provided you have enough screen space to display them.

I'm trying to figure out if its possible to open two Word documents,
simultaneously, in either a vertical or horizontally split screen, so
that I can simultaneously compare the two documents. I used to be
able to do this with Word Perfect; but I don't seem to have the
ability to do this with Word 2002, non-professional version. Any
ideas? Any suggestions? Any bad news? Please respond and MERRY

the idea)
