Default word is repaginating

Hi ?B?Um9iaW4=?=,

I have a word document (actually, a few) that is giving me a headache.
The word document is quite large with quite a few section breaks. When I
scroll down, it takes a while to respond. During this time, a "word is
repaginating" message is shown at the bottom (where page and section numbers
are shown). This is painful as it is taking forever to move through the
document. Any ideas what is causing this? Why does it do it on some documents
and not on others?

It's possible that the documents where this is happening a lot are slightly
damaged. You could try saving to another file format (unfortunately, you don't
mention the version of Word you have available), then close, open and save back
to the *.doc format. Sometimes doing that will throw out accumulated "junk" that
Word is having to sort through.

It's possible to turn of "background repagination" in Tools/Options/General if
you work in the NORMAL view. That might help a bit.
