Default creating letterhead template by 'watermark' feature?

A watermark will be washed out. Just insert the logo in the normal way to
retain it's colour depth. See this for help in creating a letterhead:

Hello,

In trying to create a letterhead template using the 'watermark'
feature to import the background image (containing the letterhead's
graphics, of course), I can't seem to figure out how to get Word to
NOT 'wash out' the graphics. There is an actual 'washout' checkbox
there, and if you check it, it will indeed wash the graphics out quite
a bit, but even unchecked, it washes them out some. Is there a way to
get it to not wash them out at all??

Any help would be appreciated!
