Default Table of Contents (TOC)

Linda,
Click in the toc, go to File - Page setup - on the layout tab - next to
vertical alignment - it should read top of page and not center or justify.

I am editing a word document (Microsoft Word 2003) to which I am not the
original author.

The Table of Contents (TOC) is centering vertically on the page. This is
causing extra line spacing on the second page of the TOC. The text on the
second page of the TOC should take up half the page, but it is forced to
fill
the entire page [top to bottom].

How do I turn off / unformat this?
