You can modify each of the bullet styles by doing this: Place the insertion
point inside a paragraph using the style. Then right-click and choose Adjust
List Indents from the context menu. Choose the desired settings. Click OK.
Right-click again and choose Styles | Update style name to Match
Selection.
On the other hand, if the bulleted styles should be part of a multilevel
list, you can set that up via Home tab | Multilevel List | Define New
Multilevel List. (See also

The other thing to check is if you are updating styles from the template
(which could definitely be a source of trouble). If so, turn that option
off
by clearing the "Automatically update document styles" option in the
Templates and Add-Ins dialog box.

I haven't been able to identify the triggger - I have tried to trace

change throught Undo but have not been able to locate it. The change

both during editing and after closing and reopening.
I am going to print the sytles out in both states to see if that can

anything further.
