Default Importing a letterhead feom Adobe Illustrater

Hmm, that's puzzling. You may try this:

1. Open your letterhead in AI
2. Open Word document with the letter
3. Click Insert - [Text (if Word 2007)] - Object
4. Select line 'Adobe Illustrator Drawing' and click OK
5. Double-click inserted rectangle. It should open in Illustrator window. Copy letterhead and paste it in second Illustrator document.
6. While second document is active, click (in AI) File-Close and Return (or Exit and Return). Now you should be able to position inserted object in your Word document.

Thanks for your reply

I tried it and it worked the first time , I tried it a second time and all I
get is a black box pasted.

If you can please give me the step by step, starting from the saving in
Illustrater to importing to Word.

Try EMF (Windows metafile) format instead when pasting from Illustrator.

I created a letterhead in AI, and would like to import it to word to use as a
letterhead. I once did this and imported it as a jpeg, the problem is that
when I would fax the document, the background of the letterhead would come
out with a visible grayish back.

Anyhow, how do I import and use my letterhead?
