Try this: Open Tools | Customize, select the Commands tab, and find Equation
Editor in the list of Commands for Insert category. Drag it to your Standard
toolbar. What happens when you click on this button?

the CD. If you have set Equation Editor to "Run from my computer," it

be installed.
