This may also be a result of "Snap to grid." Display the Drawing toolbar,
choose Draw | Grid, and make sure that option is not checked. Or you can
override the grid by pressing Alt while dragging.

One of my co-workers using the same template for creating documents in
Word
2003 as other my co-workers, has recently faced the problem with

changing column width in a Word table. When attempting to drag the

border nothing happens at all. Since the problem can only be reproduced

that co-worker's PC, I assume that some Word setting might be turned on

Will the columns change if one adjusts the width using the dialog box from
the
Table menu? (If you don't know how to find this, tell us which version of
Word
is being used.)
If that's the case, then I'd suspect a problem with either the graphics
card or
the mouse driver.
