I work with tables that are larger than can fit on one page. I would like to
have certain columns of the first page to appear on all the pages without

the first page and be protected from editing in the second onward pages.

Any Ideas how to do this simply ?

Bookmark the source, and insert cross references in the other
locations.

If this is an ordinary document, you'll have to force the cross
references to update. One way is to have the "Update fields" option
checked in Tools Options Print, and either print or just go to
Print Preview and back. Another way is to select all (Ctrl+A) and
update all fields (F9).

If it's a protected form, with text form fields as the sources, then
open the Properties dialog of each form field and check "Calculate on
exit". That will force the corresponding cross references to update as
soon as you tab or mouse out of the field.
