I am trying to use UK English -- only -- and trying, as an editor, to impose
some consistency on my organisation's output.

I am not a techie, and greatly appreciate all the tips listed here in
attempting to override/circumvent/escape the all-knowing US English.

But, dear Microsoft, since your staff is reading all this, why don't you
just provide some techie solution for other versions of English to be the
only ones used by those that choose to do so, so we can all stop discussing
the issue? (I see I am going over old ground here, but anyway...)

I change the default dictionary to NZ English and set as Default. Within minutes of working on the document the dictionary is back to US english. Is it all about America??? How do I keep it at the setting I want. NZ English.
