Default How do I align table cells with positive & (negative) brackete

Thank you so much, the part that was extremely helpful was: while being in
the table cell, pressing the ALT key and sliding the right indent on the
ruler toolbar.

When you set a decimal tab stop, numbers will be aligned on the first
nonnumeric character (aside from the thousands separator). In tables,
setting the stop suffices; it is not necessary to enter a tab character. You
can set the tab through the Tabs dialog or (more easily and accurately)
using the Decimal Tab set on the ruler (see
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting/UsingRulers.htm).

I work in an accounting department and we have many numbers in Word

Tables.
How do I align the numbers that are bracketed and non-bracketed?
EX: 1234 versus 1234
(1234) (1234)

thanks so much!
