Have you ever seen an instance where the "detect language
automatically" option in MS Word 2000 (Tools-Language-Set Language) was
greyed-out and not clickable? I'm having that problem currently.
Thanks,
John

I am in Word 2000, and have language auto-detect turned on, as I
regularly
use English, French and German in the same document.
Word correctly identifies these languages, but always sets English
to
English (US), despite:
My default language in normal.dot is English (Australian);
In Office language settings, my only enabled languages are English
(Australian), French and German.
This is very annoying, not only because of spelling variations, but
also
because auto-correct is language specific. ie, after Word switches
back to
English from French or German, my auto-correct no longer functions,
until I
manually switch from English (US) to English (Australian).
