Hi Klaus,

The comment reference style was defined as hidden. I should have thought of
that myself.

Because of a job change, I have had to switch from FrameMaker to Word and I
find that I am not as proficient as I would like. This is also the first time
that I have worked as a lone writer, so I am grateful for your help.

Regards,
Pamela

I can't print comment references in Normal view in MS Word 2003, which runs
on a Windows 2000 server. By comment references, I mean the reviewer
initials
and comment numbers that appear in square brackets after highlighted text
where you insert a comment, for example, [LP5]. I can print the list of
markups by selecting "List of markup" from the "Print what" dropdown list
in
the Print dialog box. However, when I print from Normal view, the
corresponding references that appear on screen so not appear on the hard
copy.

Does anybody know what error am I making? Or might this be a printer
problem?

I would appreciate any help that you can provide.

Normal view isn't supposed to show the document as it will print.
Go to Print layout view instead, or to "Page Print preview".

If you don't use balloons, the comment references should print. The only
reason I can think of that they wouldn't print would be that the comment
reference style is defined as hidden (Format Font), and you don't print
hidden text.
