Default opened-documents list: how to get to; how to read easily

The "opened-documents list" is at e.g.: Microsoft Office Word 2003:
Tools: Window: More Windows.

To restate or summarize a prior thread of helpful postings: Maybe you
can't increase the length of the opened-documents list, but you can
make it a tiny bit easier to get to such list, by assigning a
"macro" or key-combination shortcut to access the list quickly
(which by the way changes the normal.dot template). A way to create
such key-combination shortcut is: Tools: Customize: Keyboard:
Category=All
Command=WindowList
PressNewShortcutKey: Ctrl+Shift+W might be a sample good choice

But there is a remaining problem: now that you can get quickly to such
opened-documents list (which is entitled "Activate"), the list is
in a tiny box -- 3 inches by 3 inches, thus
precluding seeing all one's documents in one glance,
and precluding seeing the full name of any document that has a long
name.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A SUGGESTION TO ALLEVIATE THIS PROBLEM? Thanks.

(I'm using Windows XP Professional.)
