Default Can you change the position of an equation caption to the side?

The usual approach is a two-column, one-row borderless table, equation in
one cell and caption in the other. You may have to create the caption
outside the table and drag or paste it in, however. A one-step approach is
to create a dummy equation and a properly formatted caption in a table
formatted as desired and save the entire thing as an AutoText entry.

When inserting a caption for an equation, you can currently only insert
in
below or above the equation. An equation number should however be beside
to
the right of the equation. Is there anyway to do this?
