Default Restore and Recover lost or deleted Microsoft Word Document

No. AutoRecovery backups are created (if you have that optional turned on)
named "AutoRecovery backup of Document1" and the like. Word 2010 also has an
option to save a version of unsaved documents even if you don't explicitly
save them.

In fact, the Word team was so impressed with the need to save unsaved
documents (because lusers are always complaining that they worked eight
hours on a document and then lost it because...whatever) that the MVPs had
some hard talking to do to explain that rational users do NOT want to be
forced to save every document they create (or have Word do it unasked), that
we often create "throwaway" documents that we do NOT intend to save.

But you still have to have saved it once, right?

If Word is forced to quit unexpectedly or computer power is interrupted,
your FIRST step should be to reopen Word and hope you are presented with
an
AutoRecovery backup. Recent versions of Word actually save a copy while
crashing, so you often lose no data at all.

Microsoft Word will lose documents in certain situations such as
Microsoft Word forced to quit unexpectedly or computer power
interruption while writing or close document without saving changes.
Very first step to recover deleted Microsoft Word document is to
restore it from Recycle Bin. If deleted document not in Recycle Bin
then you can follow below mentioned steps to recover your deleted
Microsoft Word document.
