Default Starting and Stopping Footers

If you display nonprinting marks, for example by clicking the ¶ button on
the Home tab (Word 2007-2010) or on the Standard toolbar (Word 97-2003), you
can see all the section breaks in the document.

In addition, you can have the status bar display the current section number.
In older versions of Word, the number displays by default, and in Word
2007-2010 you can right-click the status bar and choose to display it.
