Default Open and Save Dialogs

Thank you very much for the quick help. My problem was that I did not know
that this is called a "places bar."

You can add places to the Places Bar in Word 2002 and 2003 but you cannot
remove the default ones (or edit the Places Bar at all) in Word 2000
except
by editing the Registry (see
http://www.gmayor.com/customize_the_word_places_bar.htm). You can display
many more than five folders if you (a) choose Small Icons and (b) increase
the size of the dialog (Word 2002/2003 only).

The Open and Save dialog boxes have five locations in the left hand
panel:
"My Recent Documents", "Desktop", ... "My Network Places".
Is there a way to change these to locations I actually use?
Thanks for any help,
