Default Auto Correction and Auto summraize are not working in work 200

So you type :| or :-| in Word and don't get a symbol? Perhaps the problem is
that you don't have the Wingdings font installed.

Okay, none of the AutoCorrect entries works? So what is the meaning of

the
red arrow? Given the settings in the dialog, I don't know why

AutoCorrect
isn't working.

u mean it will only work after i enter space

if u mean that then the auto correction still doesn't work

"Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote:

And you're saying that AutoCorrect doesn't work at all, or only

the
entry
the arrow is pointing to? You do know, I suppose, that

AutoCorrect
doesn't
fire until you type a space or punctuation mark?

In earlier versions of Word, AutoCorrect has three states:

1. If "Replace text as you type" is not checked, no

corrections
are
made.

2. If that box is checked, then subsitutions are made based

on
the
listed
entries.

3. If, in addition, "Automatically use suggestions from the

spelling
checker" is checked, Word will also treat as an AutoCorrect

entry
any
misspelling for which there is only a single suggestion for
correction.

Obviously, in case (1), you will get no corrections at all.

If
you
are
expecting correction beyond the listed entries, you need to

check
the
box
mentioned in (3). There are also several capitalization

options
in
the
dialog that can be enabled/disabled.

I assume that conditions are similar in the dialog found at

Office
Button |
Word Options | Proofing | AutoCorrect Options in Word 2007.

Tools | AutoSummarize is one of many Tools menu entries not

listed
in
the
Word 2007 Command Reference, so I have no idea where to tell

you
to
go
for
help on this one.
