I have even selected everything inbetween the caption that reads A-8 and

caption that reads A-13, to the point that both captions were on the same
line and running together and still caption A-13 would not change to A-9
(after trying to update the field code.) This document has been cut and
pasted into a lot so I'm thinking there is a corruption in the numbering.

even tried deleting and inserting a new TOF and the same errors showed.

What we find is that we have figure, say A-8, and then the next

Returns. If I try to enter a caption through Insert--Caption...,

TOF:
In that same blank area as above I tried to insert a picture into
the
2nd
of
the 3 hard returns. The picture then appeared in the TOF as a new
figure,
with no caption. I did not have to add a caption at all, and the
actual
picture is appearing in the TOF.
The TOC field code is: TOC \h \z \c "Figure"
The Individual entry code is: HYPERLINK \l "_Toc96939171"
Any help on these 2 problems would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
