To bold vertical or horizontal lines in a table in Microsoft Word, you can use the Border Styles feature. Here's how:
  1. Select the table by clicking and dragging over it.
  2. Go to the Table Tools tab in the ribbon.
  3. Click on the Design tab.
  4. In the Table Styles group, click on the Borders dropdown.
  5. Select "Borders and Shading" at the bottom of the dropdown.
  6. In the "Borders and Shading" dialog box, select the "Borders" tab.
  7. Choose the line style you want to bold by clicking on it in the preview area.
  8. Click on the "Line Style" dropdown and select a thicker line weight.
  9. Click on the "OK" button to apply the changes.

If you want to bold only certain lines, you can use the "Custom" option in the "Borders and Shading" dialog box. Here's how:
  1. Follow steps 1-5 above.
  2. In the "Borders and Shading" dialog box, select the "Custom" option.
  3. In the "Preview" area, click on the line you want to bold.
