Default Word won't send document as e-mail attachment

Hi Mary. Thanks for taking an interest in my problem. That's correct. I
can't attach the Word document to a Windows mail message and I can't send the
document from Word directly while I'm in the document. I have to get it into
a folder, then right click the document's name to get a menu option that
let's me send it as an attachment. In Word, when I press the Office Button
and select "send" the send as an e-mail attachment option is dimmed and I
can't select it. The only other option that pops up is Internet Fax. I have
less flexibility now in this regard than when I was working on Windows 98 and
Outlook Express. I don't think this is progress. Something's not working
right, HP can't solve it except through the work-around, and Microsoft won't
talk to me without charging me $49 because it's pre-loaded software.

Thanks for the references. I looked them up and will store them for future
issues. However, they didn't address my specific problem. Shouldn't
Microsoft be willing to at least talk to me about the program since they
wrote and distributed it? After all, it's current edition software we're
talking about, not old stuff.

I cannot send a Word document as an e-mail attachment by pressing the Office
Button and Send or by attaching the document to a Microsoft Mail message.
I'm using Office 2007 Home and Student Edition. I have to right click on
the
document's name and then select Send to mail recipient. Is this because my
version of Office is not loaded properly (preloaded by HP with new
computer)
or is it because my version of Office doesn't have Outlook? Or is there
some
other reason and remedy? HP doesn't seem to know and Microsoft won't talk
to
you for free since it's preloaded software.
