Well, assuming there are no page breaks there already, you'd need two page
breaks to get an empty page, but I can't see any other way to get what
you're asking for.

have to add a few more recipes between ones that are already typed in

need new pages between existing ones. If I just start typing it will

Be aware these are hard page breaks, which will remain in the
document
long
after you really need them.
You could just as easily put your cursor where the new text needs to
come
and type it in. No need to move things around.
Or have I completely misread your question?
