Default Mouse pointer does not work in 2007

I did this and it added a pointer line, but the mouse does not work. I can't
select anything on the document to highlight, delete or format.

This is usually the symptom of a corrupt registry. From Start, Run
(Winkey+R) type in

regedit

and press enter. Navigate tot he Word DataKey and press delete. Word will
automatically create new DataKey when it is next started.

Word DataKey

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\versio n number\Word\Data

Since installing Office 2007, when opening an 2003 or 2007 document the
mouse
pointer does not work. To select anything on the document you must use
the
keyboard arrow key and then hold shift to select any thing on the
document.

How do we fix this?
