Default Word File Menu

Yes, I can edit files when I open them by double clicking them.

Hi,
I cannot access anything on my file menu when Word is open but I do not
have
a document open. When I scroll over the options, they are highlighted,
but
nothng happens when I click on them. This includes the "open" command,
and
any of the buttons for the files I recently modified. I am using Word
2003.
Thanks in advance.
