Default Word Failure

First possiblity: Restart your computer then immediately open Word.

Second: Right click the shortcut to Word and select properties. Check to
make sure that the Run option is set to Normal Window.

Third: Start Word in safe mode by holding Control and double clicking a Word
icon (NOT A DOCUMENT!). Continue to hold control until you get a message box
asking if you want to start Word in safe mode. Click yes. If this works,
something Word is loading is causing it to malfunction.

Fourth: Restart your computer while holding F8. Select safe mode on the
screen that comes up and then log in normally. Open Word. If this solves your
problem, the computer has something on it that is interfering with Word's
normal operation. Scan for viruses and spyware. Beware that some free
anti-malware programs claim to remove viruses and malware, but actually
install their own bad software. AVG for antivirus and Spybot Search and
Destroy for spyware are free and safe. You can get them from download.com.

Fifth: Windows key + R or Start menuRun to bring up the run prompt. Type
winword.exe /r to repair Word. You may need to have your office install disc
to run the repair.

Word is minimising to taskbar on loading and will not restore to full screen,
I have re-installed Office Professional 2003 and updated OS Vista Home
Premium to SP2. This has not made any difference.Thx
