Just did this, here are my notes - hope this helps

IDENTIFY TOC ENTRY STYLES

Go to the TOC and select an entry that needs to be modified (not the 1st one
because this selects the entire table)

From the toolbar choose €śFormat€ť and then €śStyles and Formatting€ť

The style used appears in the €śformatting of selected text€ť box (make a note
of this style name)

Put the cursor on the right side of the €śformatting of selected text€ť box
and click the arrow to open the menu

Choose €śReveal Formatting€ť and do a screen print or write out this information

MODIFY TOC ENTRY STYLES
Open the €śReveal Formatting€ť menu and select €śStyles and Formatting€ť

Locate the style name to be modified and place the cursor to the right of it
and choose €śmodify€ť

On the €śModify Style€ť box choose €śFormat€ť and choose what needs to be changed

NOTE; Leader (€¦€¦..) is in TABS and Indent is in Paragraph

I am working with some long documents. They are very carefully formatted (I
spent hours on this) but I cannot get TOC to format as I want it to. The
TOC's vary from document to document, but no matter what TOC number, options
or modifications I select I can't get them to change in a given document. The
documents have headers at various levels (1 - 5), all of which I want in the
TOC. This is what I want: Times New Roman, no bold, italics, caps, small
caps, just follow capitalization as it appears in the document. I want dots
(...) from the title to the page number. Page numbers should be aligned on
the right and should be hyperlinked. Headers should indent slightly from one
level to the next. Sounds simple but I have spent literally hours inserting
TOC's over and over.
Here is an illustration of what I want (obviously it's not hyperlinked but
you will get the idea) on all documents:

Header One
.................................................. ..........................................1
Another Header One
.................................................. ..............................2
Header
Two............................................... ............................................2
This is the Header
Two............................................... ............................3
Header Three
.................................................. ...................................3
Header
Four.............................................. .......................................4
Header
Five.............................................. ....................................4
And Another Header
One............................................... ............................5
