Cindy - Thanks for the reply.

No, when I go to Tools|Customize I cannot see the Remove Hidden Data command
in the File menu that is displayed.

I found that I had to recreate the templates that would not display the
Remove Hidden Data command in the File menu, using the blank document
template (in which I could see the menu item) and copying over the styles
from the old template.

Hi Owen,

This does seem odd; I'd expect something like this if the menu point had
once
been removed in the current document context, but I doubt this could be
the
case... You might want to try asking in the office.setup newsgroup.

For my part, the first thing I'd try would be going to Tools/Customize.
Can you
see the command in the File menu, now? If yes,
- create a new toolbar
- hold down CTRL and drag (copy) the command to the new toolbar.
Perhaps
that will available in existing documents.

I downloaded and installed this utility without apparent difficulty. I
can
see the "Remove Hidden Data" entry in the File Menu when I open a new,
blank
document.

The problem is that I cannot see the "Remove Hidden Data" entry in the
File
menu when I open a previously created document that I would like to
cleanse.

While the previously created document is open I can see that 'rhd.dot' is
checked in the Tools|Templates and Add-ins|Templates dialog box. Also,
"Trust all installed add-ins and templates" is checked in
Tools|Options|MacroSecurity|MacroSecurity|Trusted Publishers

Why does "Remove Hidden Data" not appear in the File Menu when I open an
older file? When can I do to fix this?
