Thumbs up Answer: Word 2007 - Can't Unlink Header

It sounds like the header in section two is still linked to the header in section one, even though you unlinked it. Here are some steps you can try to fix this issue:
  1. Go to the beginning of section two (page three) and open the header.
  2. Make sure the "Link to Previous" button is not selected. If it is, click on it to deselect it.
  3. Delete the text in the header and enter the new text you want for Header B.
  4. Close the header.
  5. Go to the beginning of section three (page six) and open the header.
  6. Check to see if the "Link to Previous" button is selected. If it is, click on it to deselect it.
  7. Delete the text in the header and enter the new text you want for Header C.
  8. Close the header.
  9. Check the headers on each page to make sure they are correct.

If this doesn't work, you can try the following steps:
  1. Go to the beginning of section two (page three) and open the header.
  2. Select all the text in the header and copy it.
  3. Go to the beginning of section three (page six) and open the header.
  4. Paste the text you copied into the header.
  5. Delete the text you don't want and enter the new text you want for Header B.
  6. Close the header.
  7. Check the headers on each page to make sure they are correct.
