If there is sufficient space on the label, you can add a barcode field to
the label which will produce Postnet codes, but my understanding is that the
Postnet codes so produced do not qualify for a bulk mailing discount, which
is why Microsoft has removed the feature from the dialog.
Whether there is any advantage in using the barcodes so produced is
something that you will have to take up with the postal authorities. If
there is, you don't need any further software to add them. Just insert the
field.

Hello,
I am trying to help a nonprofit daycare with their bimonthly
newsletter. I've got a database for mail labels but want to add
POSTNET barcodes for economy and to help accurate delivery. When I
do a search (Google, TUCOWS, etc.) for free POSTNET software I find
free downloads (then you pay) and free trials but can't find free
software. And I am not personally able to afford gifting them with
purchased software. Any recommendations you may make will be most
appreciated!
Thanks,
Ginger
