Default How to move a table on a page

Put the cursor before the first character in the top left cell of the table
and press Enter. That will put a paragraph mark above the table. This trick
works only in that particular position.

I made a table but forgot to leave enough room above the table to
insert a description.

How can I shift the whole table downward on the page by a few lines
so that I can insert the cursor above the table?

Thanks
