For some *mouse* shortcuts, see the "Selecting parts of a table" section of
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/TableBasics.htm. Unfortunately, some
of these are broken in recent versions of Word.
There are (AFAIK) no keyboard shortcuts for selecting parts of a table
except to use the built-in Table menu, for example, Alt+A, C, C to select
the current column.

Put the cursor in the top cell of the column. Then hold the Shift key
while
you use the Down Arrow key to go to the bottom of the column.
If the column is more than a few lines long, though, it's quicker to
position the mouse cursor above the top cell so it turns into a black
downward-pointing arrow and left-click once. This will select the entire
column even if it spans more than one page.
