To add lines, either draw them (line tool on the Drawing toolbar) or
select the paragraph and add a border above or below (Format Menu
Borders and Shading). Removing is the reverse, more or less.

To add a line. Type three consecutive dashes "---" (without the quotes) and
press enter. In the header, do this following your last entry. In the
footer, do it before entering any other text.
