Hi,

I reviewed the linked document, and it does not describe my situation. My
custom styles have unique names so they should not be changed when I
copy/import them into a fresh document. However this is what happens. When I
open the Bullets and Numbering gallery, my custom lists are there, but
different list formats are applied to my custom styles. Any other ideas?

In both cases I see that some styles get changed, most commonly (I think)
bulleted and numbered lists. I thought maybe it was because these custom
styles were based on other styles, so I updated these styles so they were
based on "nothing", and replaced the template and tried again. No luck.
