Why didn't it autosave a copy for me?

Going to the autosave file location that is listed under "options" seems

indicate no autosave was made.
I've got my "folders" view showing hidden and all extensions.

Don't tell me to save regularly. I know I should. I haven't made an error
like this for years!

I need obscure information regarding a back door fix to bail me out and
find
my work.
