Is there a limitation in Word?
There can certainly be problems. Some of them and some ways you can try
to overcome them are described at

I wouldn't claim that the article describes everything that could
possibly go wrong, but you may find a way through there.

I have a user who is trying to merge data from Excel to MS Word table. The
merge works fine until about the 67th row. At that point data appears toward
the end of the row in the wrong column. Is it possible for Excel to have
"hidden character codes" which would cause this? I did notice that the Excel
data in the particular cells that are not placed correctly are255
characters. Is there a limitation in Word? Any thoughts would be
appreciated.
