Default Editing a Template Received as an Outlook 2007 Attachment

Not having the template shouldn't cause a problem unless some functionality
is provided by macros in the template. See
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/temp...ons/index.html

I assume she has saved the document to the hard drive and is not working on
a copy opened directly from Outlook? Also, be aware that, if Track Changes
is enabled, numbering will never be correct until all changes have been
accepted.

I'm trying to help my wife with a problem she has encountered. A client
of
hers sent her an email with a document attached, to be edited. However,
the
document is cannot be edited, especially the section numbering sequence.
I
believe this is because my wife does not have the original template
(*.dot)
the document she received as an attachment is based on.

Am I correct in assuming that my wife has to have the original template
the
document she received was created from, so that she can edit the document
that was sent to her as an email attachment?

If there is another way around this problem, I would appreciate anyone
providing me detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to resolve the
problem.

Thank you.
