Default find and replace double spaces at end of sentences on scanned doc

Search for two spaces and replace with one. Literally. Press the spacebar
twice in the "Find what" box and once in the "Replace with" box. If there's
no good reason for ever having more than a single space, you can search for
^w and replace with a single space.

I am editing an MS that was scanned in rich text format. Originally done

on a
typewriter, the author put towspaces at the end of each sentence. I'd like

to
change that to one space. Is there some find and replace sequence that

would
do it automatically for me rather than have to change each end of sentence
manually. tks.
