Glad I could help.

Thanks so much, Stefan! At this point no TOC has been added, but

just in
case it does become part of the document, I think the PDF is the

easier
route, too. I don't know why I didn't think of that!

Thanks for being there, Stefan.

Note that the white text will be picked up by the TOC; that is, it
will take up some space at the beginning of
the line for each Heading 1. So you may find hidden text (and

possibly
saving as a PDF) better after all.

Since you cannot prevent people from displaying and/or printing

hidden
text, formatting the number in white color might actually be the
easier solution (at least assuming that sending the document as

a
PDF
is not an option).

Note that white text, unlike hidden text, will take up space in

the
document. You can work around this by aligning the number to the

right
and setting the number and text positions to zero (this places

the
white number in the left margin).

Is it possible to create numbered headings (say 1-4) in which

the
number
doesn't show on Heading 1 but shows on all of the others? I

was
just
presented with that problem. I used a hidden number on

Heading 1,
but it
showed on the recipient's emailed copy. I then made the

number
white and
that worked on my computer, but I'm worried problems will

arrive
down the
road.

Is there a better way?

Thanks!!
