Default Word changes alphanumeric characters to wingdings font, inside

Hi Zane,

Without a sample to go by this is somewhat general

It's possible that there's a font mismatch somewhere, an add-in that's conflicting or older versioned.

I've tried inserting some AutoCAD generated .WMF files and converted some .DWGs to using http://irfanview.com and using both the
Word 2007 save as PDF and separate tools to print to XPS or PDF I don't get the change in font.

What fonts are you using in your drawings in AutoCAD and are all of those fonts also available in Word 2007?

When you insert the .WMF into Word (Insert=Picture=From File) if you right click on the inserted graphic and choose 'Edit Picture'
are there any Font substitutions then listed if you go to
Office Button=Word Options=Advanced=Show Document Content=[Font Substitutions] ?

Is it necessary that the inserted graphic be in WMF? There are conversion products but also a couple of things you can try in
AutoCAD

Bob,
1. Text is part of graphic - embedded in graphic. Problem does NOT show in
Word doc, but DOES show in print preview, on printed page, and in converted
PDF doc.
2. Source graphic is a drawing exported from AutoCAD as metafile (.WMF).
Inserted as picture, in Word.
3. Only language is English.
4. Sorry, presently no way to post file online. Actually, it's a "sensitive"
file (DoD/USAF/etc).
5. Will post haiku in a later iteration.
Thanks!
Zane
