OHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I was using the Insert Word Field pull-down list and using the Skip If
option. But, yes, I tried the filter instead and that worked perfectly.

Skip_If is old, old, old and "deprecated". Why not simply filter the records?

In the Recipient's dialog box you should be able to select "is blank" from the
dropdown list (arrow next to the Addr1 field name).

I can perform a successful mail merge (labels) using Word 2003's mail merge
function against my Microsoft SQL database. I get about 1,000 labels.

But when I add a "Skip Record if I_ADDR1 is blank" formula, Word skips
addresses in which I_ADDR1 is NOT blank. (It correctly skips records in
which I_ADDR1 is actually blank, too.)

I tried the same thing with ZIP. When I add the "Skip Record if I_ZIP is
blank," it gets rid of about 500 addresses when, in fact, only about 20 of
the addresses don't have a ZIP code.

Why does Word think that the fields are blank ... and how do overcome this
issue?
