The only part of a document that is affected by the mailmerge is the
replacement of the mergefields with the data relevant to each of those
fields from the datasource.

Therefore, unless I misunderstand your application, there is no reason for
you to be doing anything other than executing the mailmerge.

Hi there,

Trying to Merge Excel data into a rather extensive document. When
Merging to the New Document it repeats the Boiler Plate text, both
above and below the merged area. I'm hesitant to merge the boiler
plate text from a txt file, because of the document's complex
formatting and TOC.

In short, is it possible to specify an area of the document to
merge, leaving the other parts of the document unaffected? Is my only
option inserting the merged document into the main document with VBA?
