Default footnotes issue

Thanks for the tip. It worked, mostly. This will replace the text as
un-highlighted, but it leaves the footnote number still highlighted in both
the footnote area and the body of the text. Any idea what to do now? (This
is driving our leasing admin crazy) Thanks for any help you can give me.

In any search, if you use Replace All, Word will go through the document
body first and then through the other "layers," including the footnotes. If
you want to search footnotes specifically, start your search with the
insertion point in the footnote pane.

In Word 2003, you could search for footnotes that were highlighted and
replace with footnotes that were not highlighted. Is there something like
that in Word 2007? It will find anything in the body of the document that
is
highlighted, but not the footnotes. You have to manually search for each
footnote and then manually take the highlighting off. Is there a
quicker/easier way to do this? Thanks!
