Web pages use bookmarks. You might want to consider them instead? I see no
point in page numbering except to take someone to that page, so you should
probably just be creating bookmarks.

There shouldn't be. HTML documents don't have page numbers unless it
appears
in the page title. If you can state the purpose of page numbers, we
might
be
