Default using PMS Pantone colors with word

Everything Im reading seems to say that Word does not work with PMS
colors in any way. Is there not an addon or anything out there that
can give Word this ability to work with them, free or pay?

I've never heard of any add-in that works directly within Word.

You could try Pantone Colorist, available for $49.95 from Pantone
(http://www.pantone.com/products/prod...ype_Products=0)
or less from Amazon
(http://www.amazon.com/PANTONE-COLORI...dp/B000205L9S).

I haven't used this program, but my understanding is that it will suggest
RGB values that will appear to be close to selected Pantone colors. This
mapping is not even theoretically reversible. Further, the printed results
you get will depend very much on what kind of Image Color Management (ICM)
profiles your printer provides, what kind of paper you print on, how good
(and how old) your ink is, and probably the phase of the moon.
