Although the Views menu and clicking on the headings is very easy, an
alternate method is also available. If you right-click on an empty area of
the window, you can select View | Details (or any of four other views, which
don't, however, include Properties or Preview) and Arrange Icons | By Date
(or other order). What you lose in the latter instance is the ability to
reverse the sort order; you can do that only by clicking twice on a heading
in Details view.

I knew there had to be an easier way - I downloaded FileFolder, but it

took
30 minutes to get the directory copied, cleaned up so I could see just the
name, size and date. This will be great! Thanks, Luc.

Dean,
In the File open dialogue there is a button which allows you to view the
contents of a folder in different ways, click on the arrow next to it

and
choose details (not sure about the wording), you will now see different
columns, one being the date of the document, click on the title above

the
column and the files will be sorted by date. Click again and you will

sort
the other way round.

Sometimes I need to see my files in date-order, rather than

alphabetical
order. How can I do that
