Default Hide a picture in a heading

If the picture is In Line With Text, you can apply the Hidden property. If
it is wrapped, it will not print if you clear the check box for "Drawing
objects" on the Print tab of Tools | Options (note that this will also
affect any other drawing objects in the document, including AutoShapes and
text boxes).

In neither case, however, will it take up any space. If you want to preserve
the space it consumes, then whether it's inline or floating, you need to set
the brightness to 100% (Format | Picture).
