Default Text frame linking

You can "fake" the footnotes; see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...panColumns.htm for the general
principle.

Is there a way to link text frames in a document so a "story" will flow,
as
one can do with text boxes? the problem with text boxes is that they
don't
allow footnotes/endnotes. (Alternativeky, is there a way to have
footnotes/endnotes with text boxes?)
